Senior Electrical Engineer

A leading international engineering contractor is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join a major construction project in Italy.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level electrical engineer with strong LV/MV and data centre experience to take responsibility for engineering activities across a major project, coordinating design through installation, testing and commissioning.

Working as part of an integrated project team, you will lead engineering and design management activities while working closely with the project, construction, BIM, design and supply chain teams.

You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from design review and technical coordination through to installation, testing, commissioning and handover.

• Lead electrical design reviews, identifying design gaps, discrepancies and deviations from specifications.

• Review and validate cable sizing and provide technical recommendations.

• Complete technical assessments and resolve engineering issues efficiently.

• Prepare and manage electrical technical submittals through the approval process.

• Coordinate procurement, delivery and verification of electrical equipment.

• Work closely with BIM and design teams to ensure designs are fully constructible.

• Liaise with clients, consultants, vendors, subcontractors and project teams.

• Monitor engineering and construction progress against the project programme.

• Carry out electrical system walk-downs to verify installations against drawings and specifications.

• Compile test packs, FTOPs and O&M documentation.

• Manage specialist vendors throughout testing and commissioning.

• Support client training and successful project handover.

• Lead engineering design and design management activities.

• Lead pre-construction engineering activities, including design development, construction details, services coordination and technical documentation.

• Provide technical support to construction, procurement, commercial, estimating and bid teams.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and graduates.

• Support continuous improvement of project QA and engineering processes.

• 3rd-level qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.

• 7+ years' project engineering experience, ideally within construction.

• Strong experience with LV and MV electrical systems.

• Proven experience delivering electrical projects within data centres, commercial, industrial or pharmaceutical environments.

• Strong knowledge of relevant electrical regulations and standards, including BS7671, IEC and EN standards, with ETCI and Building Regulations knowledge advantageous.

• Experience with Amtech, DIALux, AutoCAD 2D, Adobe Pro and MS Office.

• Experience managing clients, vendors, contractors and other project stakeholders.

• Strong experience producing technical submittals, design reviews and technical assessments.

• Experience carrying out electrical system walk-downs and verifying installations against specifications.

• Strong commercial awareness and project management capability.
