Salary: £52,000 - £67,000 DOE

Permanent | Full time | Flexible working

Hybrid / based in an office 3 days a week

Technical Partners are currently working with a leading engineering organisation operating within the nuclear and power sector, supporting the delivery of complex, technically challenging and safety-critical projects.

We are looking to speak with experienced Senior Electrical Engineers who are ready to take a leading technical role across major engineering projects, from early feasibility and concept development through to FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning and operational support.

The Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will take technical ownership across a range of projects and will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the design, analysis and optimisation of electrical systems throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Delivering electrical engineering activities from feasibility and concept through to FEED and detailed design.
  • Producing and reviewing feasibility studies, engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, models and drawings.
  • Providing specialist technical advice relating to medium and high-voltage electrical systems and apparatus.
  • Designing and substantiating MV and LV power distribution networks.
  • Specifying electrical plant and equipment to meet project and process requirements.
  • Supporting construction, installation, commissioning and operational maintenance activities.
  • Undertaking plant assessments and life-extension studies to support important engineering and investment decisions.
  • Acting as a technical lead, providing guidance and support to other engineers within the team.
  • Reviewing engineering deliverables and ensuring technical quality and compliance.
  • Managing technical risks, design changes and technical queries throughout project delivery.
  • Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Supporting bids, tenders and technical proposals.
  • Contributing to safety initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Mentoring and developing less experienced engineers, helping to build technical capability within the wider team.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong technical background and experience working within a safety-critical or highly regulated industry.

Ideally, you will have:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience working within electrical engineering in a safety-critical environment.
  • Experience leading technical delivery and providing guidance to other engineers.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, networks and associated equipment.
  • Experience with MV/LV power distribution systems.
  • Strong engineering judgement and the ability to assess technical risks and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent technical report writing and engineering documentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience working across multiple projects, sites and engineering disciplines.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and technical leadership.
  • Chartered Engineer status or a clear commitment to working towards Chartered Engineer accreditation.

Experience in electrical networks, condition monitoring, plant operations or the nuclear/power sector would be highly advantageous.
