Senior Electronics Engineer

Senior Hardware Engineer/ Technical Lead

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to join an innovative technology business developing advanced electronic products.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, offering significant autonomy and ownership across the full product lifecycle, from concept and architecture through to design, test, manufacture and product release.

Working within a small, highly skilled engineering team, you will lead the design and development of new products, support and improve existing designs, and act as the technical lead on a range of cutting-edge projects. You'll work closely with external design partners, PCB contractors and manufacturing partners to ensure successful project delivery.

This role would suit a proactive engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and wants to remain technically hands-on whilst providing engineering leadership.

Key Responsibilities as Senior Electronics Engineer:

  • Lead electronic product development from concept through to production.
  • Define system architectures and electronic designs for new products.
  • Design, simulate and verify mixed-signal electronic circuits.
  • Produce schematics, PCB designs and technical documentation.
  • Support prototype build, test, validation and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Troubleshoot, improve and maintain existing electronic designs.
  • Work with external PCB designers and contract manufacturers.
  • Support production, test and calibration activities.
  • Drive design-for-manufacture, quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering projects.

You will likely be an experienced electronics engineer with a strong background in mixed-signal design and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues, suppliers and customers.

To succeed, you will ideally have:

  • A degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
  • In depth experience in electronics design and development.
  • Strong mixed-signal design experience
  • Experience designing low-noise, high-performance electronic systems.
  • Hands-on experience with schematic capture, PCB design and circuit simulation tools.
  • Experience using Altium Designer or similar package (OrCAD, EAGLE etc)
  • Strong understanding of system architecture and product development.
  • Experience with high-speed ADCs, signal conditioning and data acquisition systems.
  • Familiarity with laboratory test equipment
  • Experience supporting products through testing, validation and manufacture.
  • Excellent communication skills and a methodical approach to problem solving.

In return you will have the opportunity to undertake a highly autonomous role with full project ownership.
