Senior Engineer – Water & Civil Engineering
Location: Multiple sites across Manchester, Cheshire & Merseyside
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum
Start Date: August 2026
Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor operating within the UK water sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to support the delivery of a major long-term water framework across the North West.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineering professional to take responsibility for multiple sites, leading engineering teams and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage engineering and quality delivery across multiple projects and sites.
- Lead, mentor and develop site engineering teams.
- Provide technical support and guidance throughout project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with specifications, standards and company procedures.
- Undertake line management responsibilities and support the development of junior engineers.
- Coordinate engineering activities to achieve programme and quality objectives.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' site-based experience within civil engineering.
- Previous experience working as a Senior Engineer or Sub Agent.
- Experience within the water industry is highly desirable.
- Degree or qualification in an Engineering-related discipline.
- Valid certifications including:
- SMSTS
- Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) or Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS)
- Confined Space
