Senior Engineer

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Engineer to join an established specialist contractor and play a key role on a major Data Centre project in Belgium.
OCS are currently working with a specialist construction business delivering complex groundworks, civil engineering and reinforced concrete projects across the UK and Europe.
With continued growth within the European Data Centre sector, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Engineer to join their project team in Belgium.

The Role
As Senior Engineer, you will take responsibility for the technical delivery of key elements of the project, working closely with the Project Manager, site management, subcontractors and wider engineering team.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking responsibility for engineering activities across the project
• Managing setting out and dimensional control
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Ensuring construction works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings and specifications
• Producing and reviewing engineering information
• Coordinating with the design team and resolving technical queries
• Raising and managing RFIs
• Managing subcontractor engineering requirements
• Carrying out site surveys and quality checks
• Monitoring levels, coordinates and tolerances
• Working closely with the site management team to plan upcoming works
• Supporting the development and implementation of construction methodologies
• Ensuring works are delivered to the required quality standards
• Assisting with planning and sequencing of engineering activities
• Maintaining accurate site records and engineering documentation
• Supporting the Project Manager and Construction Manager with technical issues
• Liaising with the client, consultants and other project stakeholders
• Supporting the successful handover and completion of the project

Ideally, you will have:

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer / Senior Engineer
• Strong setting-out experience
• Excellent understanding of construction drawings and specifications
• Experience with total stations, GPS and other surveying equipment
• Strong technical knowledge of construction methodology
• Experience working with concrete, groundworks, civils or structural packages
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and engineering teams
• Strong understanding of QA and quality control processes
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Relevant engineering qualification
