Senior Environmental Consultant
Nutrient Neutral Ltd · Direct employer
Full-time position of Senior Environmental Consultant
We are looking for an enthusiastic, practical and motivated senior environmental, water or engineering professional with proven project management experience to join our friendly, growing team.
About Nutrient Neutral
Nutrient Neutral Ltd. is a market leader and pioneer in the nutrient neutrality and associated environmental sectors. We are environmental problem solvers with a focus on water pollution, nutrient management and practical mitigation solutions.
We are committed to building a company with strong ethical values and to investing in people, giving our team the tools and opportunities to do better for the environment than those who came before us.
We believe that our team is stronger when work-life balance is respected. We are therefore open to flexible and hybrid working. We also place a high value on training, upskilling and contributing knowledge to our professional community.
We work with landowners, developers and professional teams to assess the nutrient impact of new development and to design nutrient offsetting and mitigation schemes as well as peatland assessments and water management/optimisation schemes. Our work includes wetland design, nature-based solutions, SuDS & Natural Flood Management as well as water management and land reversion projects.
About the Role
In this role you will be involved in all aspects of project work from proposal to final invoicing.
You will manage multiple projects at any one time, ensuring that high-quality deliverables are produced within agreed budgets and timeframes. You will also support the mentoring and development of more junior staff, including reviewing their work and helping them build confidence in technical delivery.
Your day-to-day work will include technical analysis, practical problem solving, report writing and technical review. You will provide clear advice to clients and liaise directly with regulatory authorities and wider project teams.
We appreciate that there is no formal training course that prepares someone fully for a role with us, and so specific technical training on nutrient neutrality will be provided. There will be opportunities to develop areas of particular interest, and you will be actively encouraged to stay abreast of the latest industry developments.

We are looking for a Senior Environmental Consultant with experience in one or more of the following disciplines: hydrology, geo-environmental science, geography, engineering, ecology (peatlands), water management or agricultural land management.
We need a professional, competent individual who can bring technical expertise, project management capability, commercial awareness and strong client relationship and communication skills.
