Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Designer to strengthen their in-house design team based in Stockport.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable building envelope professional who enjoys taking ownership of projects from concept through to handover, whilst influencing buildability, value engineering and project delivery outcomes.

Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 5:00pm | Friday 8:00am – 3:00pm

Our client is a specialist contractor and manufacturer operating within the façade, cladding and building envelope market. They have built a strong reputation for delivering technically complex projects through a combination of engineering expertise, collaborative working and a customer-first approach.

The Role
As a Senior Designer, you will take responsibility for seeing projects through from design release to handover into procurement and production, ensuring designs are technically accurate, buildable and commercially efficient.
Working closely with Contracts Managers, the Design Manager and wider project teams, you will play a key role in developing practical design solutions, managing project documentation and ensuring project programmes are achieved.
This role requires someone who understands not only how to produce accurate drawings, but also how design decisions impact procurement, manufacture, installation and overall project profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate construction, manufacturing and fabrication drawings
- Manage projects through the design phase, ensuring deliverables are achieved in line with programme requirements
- Develop practical, buildable design solutions that consider installation methodology and project constraints
- Issue, manage and respond to RFIs throughout project delivery
- Attend design review meetings and collaborate with internal and external project stakeholders
- Produce accurate Bills of Materials (BoMs) and project schedules
- Develop fixing details, site-specific solutions and installation information
- Ensure project documentation is maintained accurately and in accordance with company procedures
- Monitor project programmes and manage design outputs against agreed deadlines
- Contribute to value engineering initiatives that improve efficiency and maximise project profitability
- Support continuous improvement across design processes, systems and project delivery methods
The Ideal Candidate
We are keen to speak with experienced Designers who have a strong understanding of building envelope systems and can confidently take ownership of technically complex projects.
You will ideally have:
- Minimum 3 years' experience within a similar façade, cladding or building envelope design role
- Strong understanding of roofing, cladding and rainscreen systems
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings, technical specifications and construction details
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor and other 2D / 3D design platforms
- Strong understanding of buildability and construction methodology
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors and internal teams
- Experience within wider building envelope systems would be highly advantageous
