Senior Facilities Maintenance Engineer                 Hastings, East Sussex
Onsite, 5 days per week                                                 To £40k + benefits
 
This is a very interesting role that would suit a proactive, experienced engineer with a can-do attitude, that enjoys responsibility and can work effectively within a growing engineering / manufacturing company.

  • Good leadership and organisation skills

  • Solid practical maintenance engineering skills (electrical or mechanical facilities maintenance, etc)
  • Experience of running and coordinating preventative maintenance processes and tasks
Background: The company is a small manufacturer of electromechanical products. You will be responsible for keeping production equipment functional, safe and running to limit costly manufacturing interruptions. This may involve hands-on maintenance or the use of 3rd party companies. Being able to manage preventive maintenance is vital for seamless production.
 
In addition, you will look after the general facilities of the operation and one other facility within walking distance of the main site. This will involve all aspects of electrical, mechanical systems from power, air-conditioning, lighting, utilities, etc. Hands-on experience in these areas would be useful, but coordinating with 3rd party engineers and technicians is also expected.
 
These responsibilities are not exhaustive, hence having a flexible and can-do attitude to role is expected. Finally, being able to support site security would be very useful.
 
Skills / Knowledge and Experience required: Senior Facilities Maintenance Engineer          
  • Relevant qualifications associated to facilities management / maintenance would be preferred (e.g. NVQ, C&G - property maintenance, 18th edition electrical, etc)
  • Proven experience working within facilities engineering, maintenance engineering or very similar within a manufacturing, production environment or similar
  • Flexible, adaptable and proactive attitude to work (small company, many hats, environment)
  • Solid practical maintenance engineering skills (electrical or mechanical facilities maintenance, plumbing, etc)
  • Experience of running and coordinating preventative maintenance processes and tasks
  • Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) / NEBOSH qualifications would be useful
  • Experience of maintaining, servicing and repairing semi-automated or automated production machinery would be very useful
  • Experience of overseeing, managing and coordinating with 3rd party engineering or trades personnel would be very useful
  • The role could suit somebody with a services background (e.g. Royal Navy, REME, etc)
