Senior Fire Systems Engineer Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Fire Systems Engineer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work for an established facilities maintenance and building projects company delivering specialist fire and life safety solutions across London and the South East.
This is a hybrid role designed for an engineer who wants to progress into management. You'll spend the majority of your time carrying out engineering duties while gradually taking on office-based responsibilities, with a clear pathway to becoming the Head of the Fire Division.
Senior Fire Systems Engineer Role & Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, fault-find, repair and commission fire alarm systems.
- Carry out small works on a range of fire alarm installations.
- Work approximately 3–4 days per week on-site and 1–2 days per week in the office.
- Review engineers' planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works.
- Issue certifications and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct site surveys and prepare quotations for remedial and new works.
- Assist with maintaining company accreditations and quality standards.
- Support the growth and development of the fire division.
- Work across hotels, leisure facilities, commercial premises, retail units, schools, academies, care homes, local authority buildings, student accommodation and social housing.
- Travel throughout London, Essex, Kent and the wider South East as required.
- Participate in the on-call rota (1 in every 8 weeks).
Senior Fire Systems Engineer Skills & Experience
- Proven experience servicing, maintaining, fault-finding and commissioning fire alarm systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of fire detection and alarm systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
- Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
