Our client, a leading company in the aerospace sector, is seeking a Senior Flight Operations Engineer to join their team. This permanent role will play a crucial part in ensuring the technical excellence of flight operations engineering, particularly focusing on the Boeing 787 entry into service (EIS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all Flight Operations Engineering aspects of the B787 EIS, providing strategic guidance to senior management.
- Assess flight operations engineering elements of new airports to identify, highlight, and mitigate potential constraints.
- Design, validate, and revise engine-out procedures to optimise take-off and landing performance.
- Provide technical expertise and assistance on all aspects of Flight Operations Engineering.
- Develop performance documentation, including technical content, customisation, revision, and production, for relevant published manuals and support materials.
- Ensure all flight operations engineering procedures are compliant, optimised, and current with regulatory and operational requirements.
- Develop and update 'Weight and Balance' documents and 'Departure Control System', including aircraft reweighs, new interior configurations, and loading schedule design.
- Develop the Minimum Equipment List (MEL) for new aircraft types and assist with updates for the MEL of the existing fleet.
- Provide analysis and resolution on any aircraft performance-related non-normal procedures or dispatch under MEL items.
- Conduct staff training on aircraft performance, weight and balance, and Boeing OPT.
- Support the Flight Ops Technical management by providing key input and support for fleet and route evaluations, considering regulatory compliance and aircraft performance.
- Support the EFB and e-Enablement strategy on all relevant aircraft Electronic Checklists (ECL), ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Represent the company at internal and external meetings, including internal, GCAA, and IOSA audits.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering.
- Fluency in English (other languages an advantage).
- Significant experience in an airline or OEM Flight Operations Engineering department.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with the Boeing 787.
- Experience in developing Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and Electronic Checklist (ECL).
- Knowledge of B787 aircraft systems.
- Experience with freighter Weight & Balance is preferred.
