The Role

As a Lead Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you'll take ownership of project delivery while providing technical leadership across a range of ground engineering schemes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the delivery of technically robust geotechnical solutions
  • Managing and reviewing designs, calculations, reports and technical documentation
  • Designing earthworks, foundations, retaining structures and ground improvement solutions
  • Undertaking geotechnical risk assessments and technical reviews
  • Managing project budgets, programmes and commercial performance
  • Supporting ground investigations and interpreting geotechnical data
  • Engaging with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams
  • Mentoring and developing junior engineers and technicians
  • Supporting bid submissions and work-winning activities

You'll be trusted to make key technical decisions while helping to maintain the highest standards of quality, safety and project delivery.

About You

You'll likely be a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with significant experience in geotechnical engineering and a passion for delivering practical engineering solutions.

Your background may include:

  • Geotechnical design within transportation or infrastructure projects
  • Earthworks, slopes, retaining structures and foundation design
  • Ground investigations and geotechnical reporting
  • Geotechnical risk assessment and asset management
  • Knowledge of Eurocode 7 and relevant industry standards
  • Experience working on rail or highways infrastructure projects
  • Commercial awareness and project management experience
  • Mentoring or leading technical teams

Experience with geotechnical analysis software such as SlopeW, Wallap or similar packages would be highly beneficial.
