Aneson Kroft Ltd
We are working with a highly regarded construction contractor to appoint an experienced Senior HSQE Manager to support the delivery of 2–3 large, complex mixed-use construction schemes.
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and influential HSQE professional to take a leading role across a growing project portfolio. You will provide both strategic and hands-on support, helping to shape HSQE processes, standards and ways of working while maintaining a strong, visible presence across site teams.
Working closely with Project Directors, Construction Managers and site-based HSQE teams, you will ensure robust health, safety, quality and environmental standards are embedded from pre-construction through to completion.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and coordinating HSQE activity across a portfolio of large mixed-use construction projects.
- Supporting site set-up, pre-start planning, construction phase plans, emergency arrangements and fire plans.
- Developing, implementing and continuously improving HSQE processes, procedures and monitoring systems.
- Carrying out regular corporate and subcontractor audits, producing clear reports and driving practical corrective actions.
- Providing expert, pragmatic advice to construction teams on legislation, risk management, sequencing and company standards.
- Leading serious accident and incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and lessons learned are embedded.
- Ensuring projects have appropriate HSQE resource and cover at all times.
- Building strong working relationships with project leadership teams and acting as a trusted advisor on all HSQE matters.
The successful candidate will be an experienced HSE/HSQE Manager with a strong construction background and the confidence to operate across multiple live, high-profile schemes. You will be practical, commercially aware and capable of influencing people at every level, from site operatives and subcontractors through to senior project leadership.
You will ideally hold:
- NEBOSH National Certificate.
- NVQ Level 5 or Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice, or equivalent.
- At least five years’ experience within construction health and safety or a closely related site-based role.
- Strong working knowledge of UK construction health and safety legislation, audits, incident investigation and subcontractor management.
- Experience managing and developing HSQE personnel.
- Excellent communication, reporting and stakeholder-management skills.
Additional qualifications such as Chartered IOSH membership, Temporary Works, First Aid at Work, scaffolding inspection or IPAF for Managers would be advantageous.
This role offers a genuine opportunity to influence, build and grow the HSQE function within an ambitious construction business, while remaining closely involved in the day-to-day delivery of major projects.
