Senior Health & Safety Advisor

Our client is looking for a Senior Health & Safety Advisor for a 3 month contract based in Coventry that can be able to travel efficiently to sites across Coventry as required. Providing professional health and safety advice and guidance across a large and diverse Local Authority.

37 hours per week hybrid working (1-2 days on-site plus 1 office day per week for team meeting)

About the role:

  • Supporting managers with risk assessments, audits, inspections and accident investigations.
  • Reviewing and developing health and safety policies, procedures and management systems.
  • Delivering health and safety training, information and guidance to managers and employees.
  • Monitoring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and best practice.
  • Supporting contractor management, CDM compliance and corporate health and safety initiatives.
  • Producing reports, analysing incident trends and recommending preventative actions.
  • Working closely with senior managers, Trade Unions, external agencies and enforcement bodies where required.
Role Requirements: Full clean driving licence NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (essential) IOSH Membership (CMIOSH, GradIOSH or working towards Chartered status). Health and safety auditing, inspections, investigations and risk assessments Interpreting and applying health and safety legislation within complex organisations Developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures Delivering health and safety training and guidance to a range of stakeholders CDM Regulations, contractor management and compliance monitoring
