Our client is a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy delivering innovative solutions across the highways, transportation, infrastructure and public realm sectors throughout the UK.


Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint talented Highway Engineers or Technicians at Senior or Principal level to join their expanding Highways Engineering team.
 
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a collaborative consultancy delivering complex and high-profile projects across London and the wider UK. You'll play a key role in the design and delivery of urban highways, public realm and active travel schemes while contributing to the continued growth of the business.
 
This role will likely fall Inside IR35. This is a hybrid position where you will be required to work in the clients office 2-3 days per week.
 
The Role
 
As a Highway Engineer, you will lead or support the development of detailed highway designs across a diverse portfolio of projects, depending on your level of experience. Working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams, you will provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle and help deliver innovative engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities
 
·Produce detailed highway designs in accordance with relevant industry standards.
·Develop high-quality drawing packages using AutoCAD.
·Prepare comprehensive design documentation in line with the Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW).
·Coordinate Statutory Undertakers' diversion processes from initial searches through to implementation.
·Produce technical reports and supporting documentation for clients and stakeholders.
·Ensure designs comply with CDM Regulations 2015.
·Liaise with clients, local authorities, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams.
·Support project delivery to programme and budget.
·Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance where appropriate.
 
Requirements
 
Essential
 
·Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
·Relevant industry experience
·Experience designing highways in accordance with:
oDMRB
oTfL Streetscape Guidance
oLTN 1/20
oManual for Streets
oTSRGD

·Strong AutoCAD skills.
·Experience producing highway design packages.
·Knowledge of MCHW documentation.
·Experience coordinating utility diversion processes.
·Good understanding of CDM Regulations 2015.
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
 
Desirable
 
·Civil 3D experience.
·SuDS and raingarden design experience.
·Previous experience delivering projects across London.
·Experience working alongside urban designers and other engineering disciplines.
·Project planning using Gantt charts.
·Commercial awareness and project financial reporting.
·Experience mentoring junior engineers.
·Working towards or holding Incorporated Engineer (IEng), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent professional accreditation.
