Rate: Competitive Day Rate (umbrella, inside IR55)
Contract Length: 12 Months
Shift Pattern: Nights - 7:00pm to 5:00am (7 on, 3 off / 7 on, 4 off)
A major infrastructure alliance is looking for three Senior Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisors to support the delivery of one of the UK's largest construction projects.
You'll play a key role in supporting the safe delivery of enabling and earthworks activities during night shifts. This is a hands-on role where you'll spend your time engaging with the workforce, carrying out risk-based assurance, supporting operational teams and helping to ensure high-risk activities are delivered safely.
As a Senior Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor, you'll be embedded within the night shift team, supporting a 24/7 construction operation on a major infrastructure project.
You'll work closely with operational teams, supervisors and contractors, providing practical health and safety support across a range of activities including excavation, piling, drainage and ground improvement works. A strong presence on site is essential, with a focus on building relationships, identifying risks before they become issues and promoting a positive safety culture.
One of the successful candidates may also have the opportunity to take on a team lead role, coordinating the wider night shift HSW function.
Responsibilities
·Provide visible health, safety and wellbeing support across night shift operations.
·Carry out risk-based inspections, audits and assurance activities.
·Engage with the workforce, supervisors and contractors to promote safe behaviours.
·Support the planning and safe delivery of high-risk construction activities.
·Monitor standards across site and identify opportunities for improvement.
·Assist with incident investigations and close-out of corrective actions where required.
·Ensure effective communication and handovers between day and night shift teams.
·Promote a collaborative and proactive health and safety culture across the project.
Requirements
·Previous experience as a Health & Safety Advisor, ideally at Senior Advisor level.
·Strong background within construction, infrastructure or another high-risk environment.
·Experience working in a site-based, operational role with a visible presence on site.
·Confident engaging with people at all levels and influencing positive behaviours.
·Comfortable working permanent night shifts.
·CSCS Manager Card.
·NVQ Level 4, 5 or 6 (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety.
