Salary: £40k-50k pa

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Engineer to join our team on a 3-month temporary contract, with the potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.

Based on-site in Norwich, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Group's IT function, ensuring the smooth running, security and reliability of our IT infrastructure. Working as part of a small team, you will manage IT support tickets, resolve break/fix incidents, and maintain critical business systems across the Group.

The IT team is responsible for the company's domain, network infrastructure, ERP system, VPN, engineering and drafting software, finance systems, Microsoft 365 environment, as well as backup, antivirus, cybersecurity and software updates. You will play a key role in ensuring our IT systems remain secure, compliant and efficient.

Experience with ISO 27001:2022 and/or Cyber Essentials Plus is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the IT department.
  • Support and maintain the Group's network infrastructure, hardware and software systems.
  • Monitor and resolve IT support tickets and technical incidents.
  • Administer Microsoft 365, ERP systems, VPN and company domain services.
  • Ensure backup, antivirus, patch management and cybersecurity measures are maintained.
  • Deliver key IT processes to support compliance with security standards.
  • Provide technical support to internal users and liaise with external suppliers where required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the Group's IT systems and infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in IT support, infrastructure engineering or IT management.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, systems administration and cybersecurity.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment (desirable).
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience with ISO 27001:2022 or Cyber Essentials Plus (beneficial).
