An established and growing specialist joinery and fit-out business in Leicester is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Joinery Estimator to join its expanding estimating team.
This is a key opportunity for an experienced Senior Estimator / Joinery Estimator with a strong background in bespoke joinery, architectural joinery, specialist manufacturing, high-end fit out or commercial interiors.
The Senior Joinery Estimator will take ownership of tenders from initial enquiry through to submission and adjudication, working closely with Estimating, Commercial, Production and Design teams.
Senior Joinery Estimator - The Role
- Taking ownership of complex joinery and fit-out tenders.
- Preparing accurate and competitive estimates for bespoke joinery and door packages.
- Completing detailed first-principles estimating.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Completing detailed quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
- Calculating labour, material, manufacturing and installation costs.
- Using Eque2 and Bluebeam for estimating and take-off.
- Liaising with clients, consultants and design teams.
- Preparing subcontractor and material enquiries.
- Reviewing, analysing and negotiating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Producing detailed subcontract and material packages.
- Calculating preliminary costs.
- Identifying value engineering opportunities.
- Identifying project risks and commercial opportunities.
- Preparing and presenting tenders at adjudication meetings.
- Ensuring all risks are highlighted prior to tender submission.
- Supporting the transition of successful projects from tender through to delivery.
- Supporting and mentoring junior estimators.
- Contributing to continuous improvement within the estimating function.
The successful Senior Joinery Estimator will ideally have:
- Significant experience within Joinery Estimating.
- Strong experience within joinery manufacturing.
- Detailed knowledge of joinery manufacturing and installation.
- Proven first-principles estimating experience.
- Experience within commercial fit out, CAT A, CAT B, hospitality, luxury residential or high-end interiors.
- Strong understanding of drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Experience preparing subcontractor and supplier enquiries.
- Strong commercial and financial awareness.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Experience presenting tenders at adjudication.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience with Eque2 and/or Bluebeam would be advantageous.
- Ability to mentor and support junior members of an estimating team.
