Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Lighting Consultant to join our growing Lighting team. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. The role can be based in Nottingham, Birmingham, or Leicestershire, with flexible working arrangements available.

As a Senior Lighting Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality street lighting designs, lighting impact assessments, and daylight assessments across a diverse range of projects. You will also manage projects, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the Lighting team.



Responsibilities



Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver street lighting designs, lighting impact assessments, and daylight assessments.
  • Conduct lighting analysis, modelling, and surveys, including mitigation strategies.
  • Produce high-quality reports, design models, drawings, and calculations.
  • Use software such as Dialux Evo, Lighting Reality, SketchUp, and AutoCAD.
  • Undertake site visits, surveys, and investigations as required.
  • Liaise with clients, planning authorities, highway authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance procedures and industry standards.
  • Support business development activities, including fee proposals and client care.


Project Management:

  • Manage lighting projects across various sectors, ensuring delivery within agreed budgets and timelines.
  • Prepare and agree on fee proposals, project scopes, and delivery schedules.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for future work.


Team and Line Management:

  • Mentor and develop junior team members, including graduates and apprentices.
  • Conduct performance reviews, training plans, and regular one-to-one meetings.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive team culture, focusing on employee wellbeing.


Qualifications

  • Proven experience in lighting design, impact assessments, and/or daylight assessments.
  • Proficiency in Dialux Evo, Lighting Reality, SketchUp, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting and client liaison.
  • Experience mentoring and supporting junior team members.
  • Understanding of health and safety responsibilities, including CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Valid CSCS card and a full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel nationally for site visits and meetings.


Day-to-Day

  • Develop and deliver lighting designs and assessments for a variety of projects.
  • Conduct site visits and surveys to gather data and provide practical solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the team's professional development.
