Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established M&E contractor delivering major projects across Central London.

The successful candidate will work on high-value data centre, commercial, and life science projects, ranging from £20m to £50m in overall project value.

Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, the company is looking to appoint multiple M&E Quantity Surveyors, from intermediate through to Senior level. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business with long-term career prospects and exposure to some of the most technically demanding projects in the sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the commercial and financial aspects of M&E packages across major construction projects.
  • Prepare, manage, and review valuations, variations, applications, and payments.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts and ensure commercial performance is maintained.
  • Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
  • Review and negotiate subcontractor packages and procurement strategies.
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and manage monthly commercial reports.
  • Assess variations, change control, and potential additional costs.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Commercial Managers, Contracts Managers, and site teams.
  • Ensure contractual obligations and commercial deadlines are met.
  • Assist with final accounts and project close-out.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Provide commercial support and guidance to project teams.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor within the construction or M&E sector.
  • Experience working on major commercial, data centre, life science, or technically complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of M&E subcontract packages and commercial management.
  • Experience managing projects or packages valued at £20m+.
  • Strong knowledge of valuations, variations, procurement, subcontract management, and final accounts.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with project and site teams.
  • Candidates from Quantity Surveyor through to Senior Quantity Surveyor level will be considered.

  • Salary: £85,000–£120,000, depending on experience and seniority.
