Senior Management Accountant

I'm currently partnering with a well-established group business based in Leeds that is looking to recruit a Senior Management Accountant to join its high-performing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful organisation where you'll play a key role in supporting financial performance, delivering commercial insight, and influencing strategic decision-making across the group.

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day financial management of part of the group, providing accurate financial reporting, business partnering, and insightful analysis to support key stakeholders. This is a varied and commercially focused role offering genuine exposure to senior leadership, the opportunity to influence business performance, and the chance to contribute to ongoing process improvements.

Key responsibilities:
  • Preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts with meaningful analysis and commentary
  • Leading the budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning processes
  • Producing detailed variance analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and presenting findings to senior management
  • Business partnering with operational and departmental leaders to support commercial decision-making and drive business performance
  • Monitoring financial performance against budgets and key KPIs, providing recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency
  • Managing cash flow forecasting, balance sheet reconciliations, and working capital reporting
  • Supporting investment appraisals, business cases, and strategic finance projects across the group
  • Maintaining robust financial controls and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the finance team where appropriate
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvements across finance processes, reporting, and systems
About you:
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
  • Previous experience as a Senior Management Accountant, Management Accountant, or an experienced Management Accountant ready to step into a more senior role
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence stakeholders across the business
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills
  • Experience within a multi-entity or group environment would be advantageous, but is not essential
