Overview

A leading Tier One main contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Services Manager to join its London business, delivering some of the capital's most prestigious commercial fit out and refurbishment projects. This is an opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of technically challenging schemes across the commercial workplace sector, where you'll play a key role in leading the MEP strategy from pre-construction through to commissioning and client handover. Reporting directly into the Divisional Director , you'll provide technical leadership across major projects while working closely with operational teams, consultants and specialist supply chain partners to ensure exceptional project delivery.

The Role

As Senior Technical Services Manager, you'll take ownership of the MEP delivery strategy on complex, high-value projects from early design through to practical completion. You'll act as the technical authority across the project, driving design coordination, managing stakeholder relationships and ensuring building services are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the MEP design and technical delivery across large commercial fit out and refurbishment projects.
• Drive design reviews, technical workshops and value engineering exercises.
• Manage consultant and subcontractor performance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure all building services are fully coordinated, compliant and buildable prior to installation.
• Work closely with pre-construction, commercial and operational teams to develop effective delivery strategies.
• Provide technical leadership throughout procurement, installation, commissioning and handover.
• Oversee commissioning programmes, integrated systems testing and client demonstrations.
• Identify and manage technical risks, ensuring programme certainty and quality throughout delivery.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and key supply chain partners.
• Mentor and support Technical Services Managers and Assistant Technical Services Managers across the business where required.

You'll ideally have:

• Proven experience delivering major MEP packages within the commercial fit out or refurbishment sector.
• Experience leading technical services on large-scale, complex construction projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services, commissioning and project handover.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to engage at senior client level.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to influence programme, procurement and delivery decisions.
• Relevant qualifications within Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
