Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 + Package (DOE)

Location: North of England preferred, with flexibility for the right candidate due to a nationwide project portfolio and office network.

A leading reputable civil engineering and demolition contractor is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.

Operating predominantly as a Principal Contractor, the business delivers complex and challenging projects across a diverse range of sectors and has built an excellent reputation for quality, safety, and technical expertise. The Role:

You will commercially manage multiple projects simultaneously, working closely with operational teams, clients, and subcontractors to maximise profitability whilst mitigating commercial risk.

Projects typically range across:

  • Demolition
  • Earthworks
  • Enabling Works
  • Remediation
  • Water Infrastructure

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the commercial function across several live projects.
  • Preparation and submission of applications for payment and valuations.
  • Managing subcontract procurement, negotiation, and administration.
  • Contractual management and risk mitigation.
  • Change control, compensation events, and variation management.
  • Cost forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Producing monthly CVRs and commercial performance reports.
  • Final account negotiation and settlement.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and clients.

About You:

  • Proven experience operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor level.
  • Strong understanding of NEC and other standard forms of contract.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and contractual knowledge.
  • Ability to work autonomously whilst contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Relevant degree qualification or equivalent industry experience.
