Due to internal career progression, we are recruiting a Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Automated Manufacturing, internally titled Senior Auto Insert (AI) Engineer, to join an established electronics manufacturing operation in Newbridge. The position sits within the Auto Insert department and is responsible for managing and coordinating its technical aspects, ensuring machinery and technical capabilities meet customer and production requirements.
The Role
This is a senior technical manufacturing position focused on ensuring machinery and technical capabilities meet production and customer requirements. The successful candidate will work across machine performance, quality, utilisation, technical problem-solving and continuous improvement, while coordinating technical activity within the department.
Key Responsibilities
· Drive zero-defect performance across Auto Insert machinery.
· Maximise machinery utilisation while minimising downtime.
· Coordinate technical staff and activity to support daily production requirements.
· Monitor departmental KPIs and drive actions to improve performance.
· Develop and implement systems and processes supporting continuous improvement.
· Provide technical input and workable solutions to machinery and systems issues.
· Support technical engineering with equipment, process and systems improvements.
· Control technical budgets and expenditure.
· Manage critical machine spares and minimum stock requirements.
· Research and support future technical developments.
· Prepare for and contribute to technical and quality meetings.
· Ensure compliance with relevant quality, health & safety and company requirements.
What We’re Looking For
· Strong engineering experience within an automated manufacturing or production environment.
· Mechatronics experience, with a good understanding across mechanical, electrical/electronic and machine control systems.
· Strong PC literacy and confidence working with technical, machine and production systems.
· Experience diagnosing and resolving technical issues across automated machinery and production equipment.
· A track record of improving machine performance, utilisation, quality and downtime.
· Continuous improvement and process development experience.
· Strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to develop practical solutions.
· Experience operating at Senior, Lead or Technical Engineer level within manufacturing.
· Experience coordinating technical staff or engineering activity.
· Auto Insert or electronics manufacturing experience would be advantageous.

We are particularly interested in engineers whose experience goes beyond traditional maintenance. You should be comfortable understanding how automated production equipment operates as a complete system, combining mechanical, electrical/electronic and controls knowledge with strong PC literacy and a focus on improving manufacturing performance.
