Senior MBS Design Engineer in Manchester, Greater Manchester

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for an MBS Design Engineer on a 6-Month Rolling Contract , located in Manchester.

The opportunity

This is a chance to own the mechanical design on major grid infrastructure, the buildings that house high-voltage equipment and keep it running safely. You'll lead the heating, cooling, ventilation and plumbing design from first idea to construction, work with other engineering teams, and help junior engineers grow.

What you'll do

• You'll own the mechanical design of the buildings from start to finish.

• Lead the heating, cooling, ventilation and plumbing design from concept to construction
• Own your design packages and deliver them on time and to a high standard
• Do the design calculations and choose the equipment
• Make sure designs are safe, meet UK regulations and industry standards, and are easy to build and maintain
• Lead risk assessments and join safety reviews
• Work with other engineering teams, contractors and suppliers
• Support and mentor junior engineers

What you'll need

• You need an engineering degree, chartership (or a route to it) and solid HVAC design experience.
• Degree in mechanical or building services engineering 
• Chartered Engineer (CEng), or working towards it
• Strong experience in HVAC and building services design
• Experience leading projects with several engineering teams
• Good knowledge of UK regulations and CIBSE guidance
• Able to work independently and communicate well
