A leading engineering and water infrastructure organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanical engineer with experience in the water and wastewater sector to play a key role in delivering high-quality, cost-effective engineering solutions across a range of projects.
The RoleYou will be responsible for:

Producing and checking mechanical design deliverables, including drawings, specifications, schedules and calculations.

Developing cost-effective designs that meet project specifications, programme and budget requirements.

Coordinating mechanical designs with other engineering disciplines and contributing to 3D plant/site models.

Working closely with construction teams, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure designs are practical and buildable.

Supporting proposals and tenders with technical input and cost estimates.

Ensuring designs comply with relevant industry standards, CDM 2015 and health & safety requirements.

Supporting the development of engineering processes and procedures.

Mentoring and supporting less experienced engineers.

Maintaining strong customer and stakeholder relationships throughout project delivery.
You will ideally have:

Significant experience in mechanical engineering design within the water, wastewater or process engineering sector.

Experience designing mechanical aspects of water or wastewater treatment plants.

A relevant Engineering degree/HND or equivalent experience.

Chartered Engineer status or membership of a relevant professional institution.

Good knowledge of water treatment, mechanical engineering and multidisciplinary project delivery.

Working knowledge of CDM 2015 and relevant industry standards and regulations, including PUWER, LOLER, PSSR and DSEAR.

Strong technical, analytical and communication skills.

Experience mentoring or supervising engineering staff.

The flexibility to travel to project sites and regional offices when required.
A relevant Master's degree would be advantageous.
