An exciting opportunity has become available within a growing Building Services consultancy in London.

This opportunity would suit an experienced Mechanical Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects, mentoring junior engineers, and delivering innovative, sustainable engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of developments.

You'll play a key role within the business, working closely with clients, architects, contractors, and senior stakeholders while contributing to the successful delivery of projects from concept through to completion.

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll lead and contribute to a range of technically challenging projects across sectors including:
  • Commercial developments
  • Residential and mixed-use schemes
  • Education facilities
  • Healthcare projects
  • Life sciences
  • Data centres
  • Hospitality and leisure
You will be responsible for developing robust mechanical design solutions, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical standards.


Key Responsibilities
  • Leading the mechanical design and delivery of building services projects
  • Producing and reviewing detailed calculations, specifications, reports, and technical documentation
  • Managing project deliverables across multiple RIBA stages
  • Taking responsibility for programme, quality, and design output
  • Coordinating with internal and external project teams
  • Attending and leading client, design, and stakeholder meetings
  • Supporting the development of sustainable and low-carbon building services strategies
  • Undertaking site visits, surveys, and construction-stage support
  • Mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior engineers and graduates
What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Strong experience within a Building Services Consultancy environment
  • Proven mechanical building services design experience across a variety of sectors
  • A solid understanding of HVAC, public health, and sustainable design principles
  • Experience leading projects and managing client relationships
  • Knowledge of current industry regulations and engineering standards
  • Proficiency with industry software such as Revit, Hevacomp, IES, or similar design packages
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team
Chartered Engineer status, or active progress towards Chartership, would be beneficial but is not essential.
