Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Birmingham, West Midlands

Our client is a well-established MEP Design Consultancy with over 40 years of experience across the industry. They are looking to bring on board a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team.

This is a senior-level position for someone with a strong mechanical design background who is confident working independently, taking the lead on projects and supporting more junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be expected to work independently while also taking a lead role on projects and supporting junior members of the team.

• Acting as a Project Lead across a range of projects
• Working collaboratively with other engineers and disciplines
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients
• Producing detailed drawings and specifications
• Producing calculations or guiding others to complete them
• Producing mechanical calculations and providing guidance to other engineers where required
• Working on a variety of technically challenging projects across a range of sectors

The client is a well-established large MEP Design Consultancy that has been operating for over 40 years. They work across a broad range of sectors, including commercial, industrial, residential, pharmaceutical and public sectors.

What are they looking for?

The client is looking for someone with a strong mechanical design background who is comfortable taking responsibility for projects and working with clients and colleagues.

• At least 4 years worth of experience in mechanical design
• Experience using design software such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux and Revit
• Knowledge of British standards and building regulations
• Working knowledge of BREEAM
• Right to work in the UK
