Role: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Metal Fabrications
Location: Near Heanor
Salary: Up to £60,000 DOE
Hours: Flex - Monday to Thursday (8hrs) start time between 7.00am and 8.30am and Fridays (6hrs) start time between 7.00am and 8.30am (38hr week)
Holidays and Benefits: 33 days, pension 6% by employer.
Overview:
We now require a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team. Working in purpose-built manufacturing facilities for a company that manufacture bespoke metal fabrications with processes such as - sheet metal, welding and fabrication and machining.
Breif overview - duties
- Lead engineering activities on major contracts, overseeing assigned Design Engineers.
- Accountable to the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for the mechanical design and integrity of the company's products.
- Demonstrate leadership within the mechanical discipline and uphold the highest professional engineering standards.
- Identify and implement design and process improvements across the department and wider business.
- Collaborate with internal departments to achieve business and departmental objectives.
- Act as the primary technical contact for external design resources and queries.
- Mentor, supervise, and support the ongoing development of junior engineers.
The ideal candidate/ Senior Mechanical Design Engineer may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
- Previous experience working with sheet metal fabricated components
- Educated to degree level in design, engineering or similar - mechanical engineering.
