Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking to work on genuinely innovative products that improve lives?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a highly successful engineering and technology business developing complex, next-generation electro-mechanical products for the healthcare sector.

This is an opportunity to become part of a collaborative multidisciplinary engineering team, where you'll play a key role in taking innovative concepts through design, development and manufacture while working on technically challenging projects using the latest engineering technologies.

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll be responsible for the design and development of sophisticated electro-mechanical systems, working closely with engineering, manufacturing and quality teams throughout the complete product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing innovative electro-mechanical products and assemblies.
  • Creating creative engineering solutions to challenging technical problems.
  • Supporting product development from concept through to manufacture.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver robust design solutions.
  • Producing and reviewing technical documentation, design reports and verification plans.
  • Supporting design verification, validation and manufacturing activities.
  • Ensuring designs comply with relevant quality and regulatory standards.
  • Driving continuous improvement throughout the product development process.

About You

We're looking for engineers who can demonstrate:

  • HND, Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong mechanical design experience within a complex engineering environment.
  • Excellent SolidWorks CAD skills.
  • Experience developing complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • A good understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • Experience supporting products through transfer to manufacture.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Experience within Medical Devices, Life Sciences, Scientific Instrumentation, Robotics, Aerospace or another highly regulated engineering environment would be advantageous, although engineers from other precision engineering sectors will also be considered.
