Renishaw Neuro Solutions is looking for a Senior Mechanical / Product Engineer to join the Neuromate R&D team at our Charfield site.
This role offers the opportunity to take meaningful ownership of product improvements within a small, collaborative team. You will work on a complex electro‑mechanical medical device in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
You will take responsibility for mechanical design changes, technical problem solving, and product improvements. The role supports Mechanical/Product ongoing product stability and future system development.
Responsibilities

Leading design changes and improvements across the Neuromate system.

Investigating product issues and CAPAs. Identifying root causes and implementing solutions.

Developing mechanical design concepts and selecting appropriate solutions.

Defining material selection, tolerancing and manufacturability (DFM/DFA).

Working with production/manufacturing teams to implement design updates.

Collaborating with systems, software and electronics engineers to ensure effective product integration.

Producing and reviewing detailed design outputs (e.g. drawings, BOMs).

Supporting the development and improvement of structured design processes and tools (e.g. Teamcenter, Polarion).
Key requirements
-
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

Significant experience in mechanical or product design.

Experience working on complex electro-mechanical systems.

Strong problem solving and practical engineering skills.

Ability to take ownership of engineering tasks and deliver solutions independently.

Good understanding of tolerancing, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Good communication and teamworking skills.
Desirable requirements

Experience in regulated industries (medical, aerospace or similar)

Experience with precision or robotic systems

Degree in Medical Engineering or experience working on medical devices

Familiarity with PLM systems such as Teamcenter

Knowledge of design for manufacture and assembly principles
