Are you an experienced National Account Manager looking for the autonomy to take ownership of key grocery accounts, shape commercial strategy and drive meaningful growth?
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior National Account Manager to join a growing food business in a fully remote role, giving you the freedom to make the position your own. You’ll take responsibility for key UK grocery accounts, building strategic relationships with buyers and managing the full commercial agenda to deliver profitable sales and long-term growth. Alongside developing existing customers, there will be a strong focus on identifying and building new business opportunities, giving you genuine scope to make your mark.
You’ll have ownership across account strategy, P&L, forecasting, pricing and promotional activity, while working closely with Marketing, Product, Supply Chain and Finance to deliver against customer and commercial objectives.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Taking ownership of key national grocery accounts and managing day-to-day customer relationships.
- Building strong, collaborative partnerships with buyers and key customer stakeholders.
- Developing and delivering joint business plans aligned with customer and commercial objectives.
- Identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts through range expansion, promotions and category development.
- Developing new business opportunities and building relationships with prospective customers.
- Taking full ownership of account-level P&L performance, balancing sales growth with margin delivery.
- Negotiating annual terms, pricing and promotional plans to drive profitable growth.
- Monitoring market trends, competitor activity and customer performance to inform commercial strategy.
- Leading forecasting and demand planning across assigned accounts, working closely with Supply Chain.
- Analysing sales, promotional and financial performance to identify risks and growth opportunities.
- Working cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Supply Chain and Finance to deliver account plans.
- Supporting NPD launches and ensuring strong execution within customer accounts.
- Aligning internal stakeholders around customer priorities, commercial opportunities and account strategy.
What’s required?
- Proven experience as a National Account Manager or Senior National Account Manager within FMCG, ideally food manufacturing.
- Strong experience managing major UK grocery multiple accounts.
- Established relationships and confidence influencing at buyer level.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience taking ownership of account-level P&Ls.
- A track record of delivering profitable sales growth and identifying new commercial opportunities.
- Excellent negotiation, influencing and relationship management skills.
- Strong forecasting, financial planning and analytical capabilities.
- Experience working closely with manufacturing teams to translate customer requirements into commercially deliverable solutions.
- Confidence managing complex accounts and competing priorities within a fast-paced environment.
- A strategic mindset combined with the ability to take ownership and execute plans effectively.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
What’s in it for you?
