We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and caring Senior Nursery Practitioner to join our dedicated early years team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified practitioner who is passionate about delivering outstanding childcare and education while supporting the Room Lead in the day-to-day running of the room.

The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn, develop, and thrive. They will support the Room Lead in maintaining high standards of care, learning, safeguarding, and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Room Lead in the daily organisation and management of the nursery room.
  • Deliver high-quality care and learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Act as a key person, building strong relationships with children and their families.
  • Observe, assess, and record children's development and progress.
  • Assist with planning and implementing engaging activities that support children's individual learning needs.
  • Support and mentor junior practitioners, apprentices, and students.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are consistently followed.
  • Promote positive behaviour and inclusive practice throughout the setting.
  • Contribute to maintaining a welcoming, clean, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, colleagues, and external professionals.

Essential Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting. (Ideally 5+ years)
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding requirements.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Ability to work proactively and support room leadership responsibilities when required.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting room management or leading a team.
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification.
  • Additional training in safeguarding, SEND, or behaviour management.
