Senior Payroll Administrator - Part Time
Your New CompanyA well-established and growing Northern Ireland business operating within a specialist services sector is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Administrator to join its finance team. Your New RoleAs Senior Payroll Administrator, you will take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing across both weekly and monthly payrolls, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation and HMRC requirements.Key duties will include:
- Processing weekly and monthly payrolls, including new starters, leavers, SSP, SMP, SPP, and pension auto-enrolment.
- Managing payroll and time & attendance queries within strict payroll deadlines.
- Creating and processing BACS payment files and ensuring all approvals are completed within required timescales.
- Submitting payroll returns, pension contributions, and statutory payments accurately and on time.
- Completing year-end payroll processes, including P11D reporting.
- Maintaining up-to-date payroll records and ensuring compliance with current payroll legislation.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for employee payroll queries.
- Performing payroll reconciliations and supporting the finance team with payroll reporting and analysis.
- Collaborating closely with HR regarding employee-related payroll matters.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and payroll system enhancements.
- Processing PAYE, National Insurance, pension-related activities, and associated payroll administration.
What You'll Need to SucceedTo be considered for this position, you will have:
- A minimum of two years' experience within a high-volume, computerised payroll environment.
- Experience processing both weekly and monthly payrolls from start to finish.
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, statutory payments, and HMRC requirements.
- Excellent IT skills, including payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Previous experience with Sage payroll software would be advantageous.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with colleagues across multiple departments.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach and the ability to work independently.
- Previous experience using NTD software would be beneficial but is not essential.
