We are working with an established and growing law firm that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Personal Injury Solicitor.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident personal injury specialist who can independently manage a varied caseload while providing clear, practical and compassionate advice to clients. The successful candidate will play an important role within the department, handling cases from initial instruction through to settlement or trial.

The position would suit an experienced solicitor who enjoys taking ownership of their work, building strong client relationships and contributing to the continued development of a busy personal injury practice.

Key Responsibilities
Manage a varied caseload of personal injury claims from initial instruction through to conclusion.
Handle road traffic accident, employers’ liability, public liability and other personal injury matters.
Assess new enquiries and advise clients on liability, prospects of success, evidence and potential compensation.
Conduct detailed investigations into liability and quantum.
Obtain and review medical records, medical reports, witness statements and supporting evidence.
Instruct medical experts, barristers and other relevant professionals.
Prepare and review schedules of loss, pleadings, witness statements and court documentation.
Negotiate effectively with insurers, defendant solicitors and other parties.
Issue and manage court proceedings where appropriate.
Ensure all cases are progressed efficiently and in accordance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.
Maintain regular communication with clients and provide clear updates throughout the claims process.
Ensure clients receive a professional, supportive and empathetic service.
Accurately record time, maintain complete case files and comply with internal procedures.
Support junior solicitors, paralegals and other members of the personal injury team where required.
Assist with the development of departmental processes, standards and best practices.
Build and maintain professional relationships with external experts, barristers and introducers.
Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the personal injury department.
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales.
Strong post-qualification experience within personal injury law.
Demonstrable experience independently managing a personal injury caseload.
Sound knowledge of road traffic accident, employers’ liability and public liability claims.
Experience handling claims from initial instruction through to settlement or litigation.
Good understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules, relevant protocols and personal injury litigation procedures.
Experience preparing court documents, witness statements and schedules of loss.
Strong negotiation skills and the confidence to deal with insurers and defendant representatives.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to explain complex legal matters clearly and sensitively to clients.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Commercially aware, proactive and focused on achieving positive outcomes.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Able to work independently while contributing positively to the wider team.
Desirable Experience
Experience handling higher-value or complex personal injury claims.
Experience dealing with serious or catastrophic injury matters.
Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members.
Familiarity with conditional fee agreements and after-the-event insurance.
Experience using legal case-management systems.
APIL membership or accreditation would be advantageous but is not essential.
