Senior Physiotherapist

Oaks Hospital, Colchester
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Senior Physiotherapist to join our busy and growing Physiotherapy Department at Colchester Oaks Hospital. We know our people are our greatest asset – because only together can we deliver the highest quality of healthcare.

As part of our team, you will manage a varied and challenging caseload, including a large number of postoperative orthopaedic and general musculoskeletal patients. You will also have the opportunity to contribute across pre-assessment and inpatients, working collaboratively to provide seamless care throughout the patient journey. You will be required to support the hospital in working towards a 7 day service, and provide regular support 'out of hours', for evening, weekend and bank holiday working.

The role also offers the opportunity to develop a specialist interest in upper limb and hand rehabilitation, working closely with orthopaedic consultants and experienced colleagues to support the assessment and treatment of patients with a range of upper limb, hand and wrist conditions.

What you'll bring with you:
  • A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Physiotherapy

  • HCPC Registration

  • Excellent clinical reasoning and decision-making skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • The ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively

  • A good understanding of CSP Standards of Physiotherapy Practice and the HCPC Rules of Professional Conduct

  • Evidence of commitment to ongoing CPD

  • An interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, including upper limb and hand rehabilitation

The Person

You are passionate about helping patients recover, achieve, and maintain the best level of health and wellbeing. With experience in managing a wide-ranging outpatient musculoskeletal caseload (including hands), you are confident in delivering in-service training and supervising junior or undergraduate staff.

An interest in upper limb and hand physiotherapy is desirable, and we welcome applications from clinicians looking to further develop their knowledge and skills in this specialist area.

You are a strong communicator, a confident IT user, and someone who thrives in a team environment where knowledge is shared, and patients are always at the heart of what we do.

Training and Development

At Colchester Oaks Hospital, we are committed to supporting the professional development of our team. You will have access to regular CPD opportunities, internal training, clinical mentorship and support for external courses.

For candidates with an interest in upper limb and hand rehabilitation, there will be opportunities to develop specialist skills through working alongside experienced clinicians, consultant-led services and exposure to a diverse upper limb caseload. We encourage ongoing professional development and support colleagues in expanding both their clinical expertise and leadership capabilities.
