Step into a senior planning role where your expertise will shape major construction projects from tender strategy through to successful delivery.

This is an opportunity to join a well-established residential construction business delivering significant projects across the UK.

As Senior / Lead Planner, you will work closely with operational leaders, pre-construction teams and site-based colleagues to shape programmes from tender stage through to completion. You will have the autonomy to influence delivery strategy, identify risks early and implement practical solutions that protect project timescales and commercial performance.

This Senior / Lead Planner position offers a varied workload, senior-level exposure and the opportunity to make a visible impact across multiple schemes.

Responsibilities

As Senior / Lead Planner, you will:

• Produce and maintain detailed, logic-linked construction programmes using ASTA Powerproject.
• Develop tender, pre-construction and live project programmes.
• Undertake critical path analysis and identify programme risks, constraints and opportunities.
• Create sequencing strategies, method statements, logistics plans and programme narratives.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, design teams and commercial colleagues.
• Monitor progress against agreed milestones and produce clear reports, forecasts and recovery programmes.
• Challenge project teams constructively and support the implementation of mitigation measures.
• Review labour, procurement and resource requirements to improve time and cost efficiency.
• Communicate programme information clearly to internal stakeholders, clients and delivery partners.

The successful Senior / Lead Planner will have a strong construction background and proven experience planning large-scale residential, mixed-use or comparable building projects. You will be confident working with detailed construction programmes and possess a thorough understanding of critical path methodology.

You should also be an effective communicator who can build credibility with both site teams and senior stakeholders. Experience supporting projects from pre-construction through to delivery would be particularly valuable.
