I'm working with an established, independent multidisciplinary consultancy that is looking to strengthen its Transport Planning team with the appointment of a Senior Transport Planner in their Woking office.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team delivering a wide variety of development planning projects, ranging from strategic site masterplanning and movement strategies through to supporting planning and reserved matters applications. The Role


You'll play a key role in delivering transport planning projects from inception through to completion, working closely with colleagues, clients, local authorities and wider project teams.
Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing Transport Statements, Transport Assessments and Travel Plans.
  • Producing Access Appraisals, WCHAR Assessments and ATZ Reviews.
  • Undertaking junction capacity modelling and analysis.
  • Carrying out preliminary highway design work and Swept Path Analysis.
  • Liaising with clients, stakeholders, design teams and local authorities.
  • Attending project meetings, consultations and public engagement events.
  • Supporting and collaborating with wider Transport Planning teams across the business.


About You


Ideally, you'll have experience within a transport planning consultancy environment and be confident managing your own workload while contributing to wider project delivery.
Key requirements include:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience within UK Transport Planning.
  • Experience preparing Transport Statements, Transport Assessments and Travel Plans.
  • Proficiency using TRICS, TEMPro and Junctions 9 (ARCADY/PICADY).
  • Strong report writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
  • Experience with CAD software would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of LinSig, GIS or Microsimulation packages would be beneficial.
  • Working towards or already holding TPS Professional Development Scheme accreditation would be desirable.


A degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, Planning, Mathematics or a related discipline would be advantageous, although not essential.
