Salary: £40,000/£50,0000

Are you an experienced Senior Transport Planner looking to take the next step in your career? We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing consultancy with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality transport planning and civil engineering projects across the UK.

The Role

As a Senior Transport Planner, you'll be responsible for managing transport planning projects, preparing and reviewing technical reports, liaising with clients and local authorities, and supporting the development of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects, ensuring budgets and deadlines are achieved.
  • Prepare, review and approve Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and Technical Notes.
  • Produce and review planning drawings, including visibility splays, vehicle tracking and access designs.
  • Use transport modelling software to calculate trip generation and distribution.
  • Prepare appeal documentation, including Statements of Case and Statements of Common Ground.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, project teams and local authorities.
  • Attend client meetings, public consultations and highway authority meetings.
  • Assist with fee proposals and tender submissions.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the transport planning team.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent experience).
  • Membership of a relevant professional body.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience within Transport Planning.
  • Strong knowledge of UK transport planning guidance and standards.
  • Excellent report writing and technical skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workloads.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Permanent right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available).
