A specialist engineering business operating within the defence sector is seeking an experienced Senior Product Safety Engineer to take a leading role in Product and System Safety Assurance across complex projects.
The Role
- Lead Safety Analysis, Risk Assessments and Safety Case development.
- Conduct Hazard Identification and analysis, maintaining relevant Hazard Logs.
- Develop and work to Safety Management Systems and Plans.
- Produce technical reports, presentations and safety documentation.
- Support bids, proposals and internal/external Safety Working Groups.
- Proven Product/System Safety Engineering experience, ideally within Defence.
- Experience with Safety Cases, Hazard Analysis and risk assessment methodologies.
- Knowledge of DEF STAN 00-056, DSA02-DMR and IEC 61508.
- Engineering, Mathematics or Science degree (or equivalent experience).
- SC Clearance or ability to attain, with UK nationality and a full driving licence.
- Previous maritime or submarine experience.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration.
- Experience managing, mentoring or developing engineering personnel.
- Knowledge of CE/UKCA compliance.
- Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
