TXM Recruit are working in partnership with a leading engineering and manufacturing business to recruit a Senior Production Manager – Production Support Services. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced production leader to take ownership of several key operational areas, including Corrosion, Paint, Test and Production Support Services, ensuring the safe, efficient and cost-effective delivery of customer projects.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you'll lead multiple production teams, drive operational excellence, deliver continuous improvement initiatives and ensure production targets are achieved without compromising safety, quality or customer satisfaction. You'll also play a key role in shaping the future of the production department and deputise for the Head of Operations when required.

As the Senior Production Manager, you will:
  • Lead the Corrosion, Paint, Test and Production Support Services teams.
  • Deliver production plans safely, on time and within budget.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across your operational areas.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Planners and fellow Production Managers to achieve business objectives.
  • Manage departmental budgets, resources and headcount to maximise productivity and efficiency.
  • Develop production processes and ensure robust operational procedures are followed.
  • Lead, coach and develop production teams, creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Manage employee performance, disciplinary and grievance processes where required.
  • Monitor KPIs and operational performance, identifying opportunities to improve quality, productivity and cost.
  • Ensure effective collaboration with HR, Quality, Commercial and Finance teams.
  • Support workforce planning, training and competency development.
  • Champion health, safety and environmental standards across the department.
  • Deputise for the Head of Operations during periods of absence.
We're looking for someone who has:
  • A strong engineering or manufacturing background.
  • Experience leading production departments within a complex engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Previous responsibility for budgets, productivity and operational performance.
  • Financial awareness with experience managing profit and loss.
  • Extensive Lean Manufacturing knowledge and continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience using MRP systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret production data and KPIs.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Experience developing high-performing teams and improving operational performance.
  • A strong understanding of safe systems of work.
  • An HNC or equivalent qualification would be advantageous.
  • A Level 4 or 5 qualification in Leadership & Management would be desirable.
