THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is seeking a senior client-side infrastructure leader to provide strategic oversight across a portfolio of major airport projects. This role suits an experienced programme or project professional who can lead multidisciplinary teams, strengthen governance and maintain control of scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality and stakeholder outcomes across multiple concurrent workstreams.

The programme covers new piers and aircraft stands, major airfield upgrades, terminal redesign, surface access and transport improvements, and upgraded drainage and utilities. You will work in a live, safety-critical environment where robust governance, stakeholder management and disciplined delivery are essential.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

- Provide strategic leadership across a portfolio of infrastructure, building, drainage and utility projects from inception through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and close-out.

- Develop and maintain Project Execution Plans aligned with programme governance, standards and delivery methodologies.

- Lead, mentor and develop Project Managers, ensuring consistent application of project management and controls processes.

- Act as a senior interface with the Airport Transformation Manager, Programme Director and other executive stakeholders.

- Oversee schedule, cost, commercial, risk, change, quality, safety and interface management across the portfolio.

- Chair senior design, delivery and governance meetings and drive timely decisions and issue resolution.

- Review and approve performance reports, forecasts, risk registers, resource plans and key project deliverables.

- Provide commercial and contractual leadership, including oversight of NEC change and compensation-event processes.

- Drive continuous improvement in governance, reporting, project controls and delivery performance.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- At least 15 years of experience delivering major infrastructure and capital investment programmes.

- Strong experience across civil engineering, drainage, utilities and/or major commercial or building projects.

- A proven record of leading multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple concurrent projects or work packages.

- Substantial NEC contract experience gained in a client, consultancy, contractor or subcontractor environment.

- Client-side delivery experience and confidence operating with senior stakeholders, regulators and delivery partners.

- Aviation or live operational infrastructure experience is highly desirable; rail, highways, utilities, water, energy or similarly constrained environments will also be considered.

- A relevant degree and professional accreditation such as Chartered Engineer, RICS, SCSI, APM or CIOB are preferred.

- A highly competitive permanent base salary of €115,000 - €135,000 (approximately £98,000 - £116,000) for comparison, depending on experience and professional standing.
