Senior Project Manager Construction Consultancy

Are you a Project Manager with construction consultancy experience looking to take greater ownership of projects and progress towards a more senior position?

We're working with an established international consultancy looking to strengthen its Project Management team.

This is a client-facing role offering the opportunity to manage projects across the full lifecycle. You'll be given genuine responsibility for your own projects while continuing to develop your commercial, contractual and leadership experience.

The Role

You'll be responsible for:

  • Managing small to medium-sized construction projects with increasing autonomy
  • Supporting the delivery of larger and more complex projects and programmes
  • Managing projects through the full project lifecycle
  • Developing and managing project programmes
  • Chairing project and stakeholder meetings
  • Managing project risks, opportunities, change and reporting
  • Supporting procurement strategy and contractor/consultant selection
  • Preparing and evaluating tenders and contract documentation
  • Supporting contract administration across JCT and NEC contracts
  • Coordinating clients, consultants, contractors and other key stakeholders
  • Providing clear and accurate project reporting
  • Supporting risk and value management workshops
  • Identifying and resolving issues affecting project delivery
  • Supporting bids, tenders and wider business development
  • Beginning to mentor and support junior members of the team

What We're Looking For

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Around 5+ years' experience within construction/project management
  • Experience working within a consultancy or client-side environment
  • Strong technical construction knowledge
  • Experience delivering projects through multiple stages of the project lifecycle
  • Knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
  • Experience across procurement, programming, risk, change control and stakeholder management
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Some experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues

A degree is preferred, with qualifications such as MAPM, MRICS, PRINCE2 or equivalent advantageous but not essential where you can demonstrate the right level of experience.
