Senior Project Planner

Electus Recruitment Solutions

Remote-friendly
Senior Project Planner £60,000 to £75,000 plus up to 10% bonus and benefits
Home based, UK wide with travel to client sites
Permanent, full-time

Join a specialist project consultancy in a hands-on Senior Project Planner role supporting complex client projects and programmes across the UK.

This is a home-based position when you are not required at a client location. Depending on the assignment, travel may be required for up to 3 days per week with occasional overnight stays. Travel expenses are covered.

You will need to be comfortable joining different client environments, establishing credibility quickly and taking genuine responsibility for the quality and accuracy of project schedules.

What you will be doing
  • Creating, developing, maintaining and controlling project or programme schedules
  • Using Primavera P6 as part of your day-to-day planning work
  • Managing schedule logic, dependencies, milestones and sequencing
  • Running regular progress and schedule-update cycles
  • Gathering, validating and challenging progress information from project stakeholders
  • Analysing slippage, variance, forecast dates and other schedule implications
  • Working across project teams, contractors, suppliers or technical disciplines where required
  • Providing clear planning information to Project Managers and other delivery stakeholders
  • Supporting baseline, change, risk and resource-planning activities depending on the assignment
  • Maintaining responsibility for the credibility and integrity of the schedule

What we are looking for
  • Strong hands-on project planning and scheduling experience
  • Clear evidence of personally owning or taking substantial responsibility for project schedules
  • Practical Primavera P6 experience connected to schedule development, maintenance or analysis
  • Experience working on projects or programmes with sufficient scale, complexity or integration to operate at senior level
  • The ability to analyse a schedule rather than simply enter updates or produce reports
  • Experience working with Project Managers, engineers, delivery teams, contractors or other project stakeholders
  • Confidence working independently within a client environment
  • Willingness to travel to client sites throughout the UK and stay overnight where required
  • Sole British nationality and willingness to undergo UK security vetting

Experience of integrated schedules, resource planning, resource-loaded schedules, schedule risk, recovery planning, NEC or wider project controls would be useful. Relevant professional qualifications such as APM PMQ, APMG Project Planning and Control, MRICS or similar are desirable rather than essential.

You do not need to be a Primavera P6 technical specialist. You do need practical experience using P6 as a planner and enough planning judgement to take meaningful responsibility for schedules.

Salary and benefits
  • £60-75K base salary with some flexibility for an exceptional candidate
  • Bonus of up to 10%
  • 7.5% matched pension contribution
  • Home-based working when not required at a client site
  • Travel expenses covered for client-site requirements
  • Support towards further commercial and role-relevant qualifications
  • Development opportunities across areas including P6, NEC, APM and APMG Project Planning and Control

Eligibility

Due to the nature of the work applicants must be sole British nationals and able and willing to obtain and maintain the required UK security clearance.
Existing security clearance is useful but is not normally required before joining.
