Senior Qs/ Managing QS in Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh

Take a leading commercial role on a £23m hotel development in Edinburgh city centre.

Site Angels is working with an established main contractor to recruit a Senior QS or Managing QS for this substantial city centre project.

This opportunity could suit an experienced Managing QS looking for a new challenge or a strong Senior QS ready to progress. You will be expected to work on site four days per week.

The opportunity

Working closely with the project delivery team, you will oversee the commercial aspects of the development, maintaining financial control and managing subcontractor relationships throughout the project.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing project budgets, cost reporting and financial forecasts

• Overseeing subcontract procurement and package management

• Preparing valuations and applications for payment

• Assessing variations and managing contractual change

• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities

• Agreeing subcontractor payments and final accounts

• Working with the site team to monitor progress against budgets

• Liaising with clients, consultants and the wider project team

• Providing commercial guidance and support appropriate to your appointment level

About you

Main contracting experience is essential. You will bring a strong track record in quantity surveying, confident negotiation skills and a thorough understanding of commercial and contractual processes.

You should be comfortable taking responsibility for project finances and working closely with an active site team.

The package

• £60,000–£80,000 depending on experience and level

• Company car or car allowance

• Very generous pension
