Senior Quantity Surveyor

I'm currently working with a well-established civil engineering and groundworks contractor that's looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong reputation in the residential infrastructure sector, delivering a wide range of groundworks and civil engineering packages for leading housebuilders across the South.



The Role

Reporting into the Commercial Manager, you'll play a key role across both estimating and quantity surveying, supporting projects from tender stage through to final account.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing competitive estimates and tender submissions for residential groundworks projects
  • Managing project costs, valuations and variations
  • Producing cost plans, forecasts and commercial reports
  • Supporting contract administration and ensuring contractual compliance
  • Working closely with site, procurement and operational teams
  • Assisting with the agreement of final accounts and project change
  • Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders


About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • At least 3 years' experience within quantity surveying
  • Experience delivering groundworks or civil engineering projects
  • Strong commercial awareness and excellent numerical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience using Bluebeam or similar take-off software would be advantageous
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team
