Are you a Chartered Quantity Surveyor looking for an opportunity to take a lead role on a diverse range of high-profile projects?
Our client is a leading multidisciplinary construction, design and project delivery consultancy looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing Buildings & Places team in Southampton.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will act as a trusted commercial advisor to clients, taking responsibility for the successful commercial delivery of projects while building strong, long-term relationships with clients and project teams.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the commercial delivery of projects, ensuring agreed cost, quality and programme objectives are achieved.
- Preparing and managing cost plans, budgets and financial forecasts.
- Providing strategic cost and commercial advice throughout the project lifecycle.
- Managing contract administration activities across a variety of projects.
- Maintaining strong financial control, project profitability and accurate forecasting.
- Ensuring governance, quality standards and client KPIs are consistently achieved.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders.
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the Quantity Surveying team.
- Contributing to team development and knowledge-sharing initiatives, including CPD activities.
- Supporting client account growth and identifying potential new business opportunities.
- Contributing to bids, proposals and wider business development activities.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- MRICS status or equivalent professional qualification.
- Proven Quantity Surveying and Cost Management experience within a consultancy environment.
- Experience delivering projects across property and development sectors.
- Strong knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts.
- Experience acting as an Employer's Agent would be advantageous.
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing complex projects and multiple priorities.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
- A proactive, commercially aware and solution-focused approach.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
