A leading civil engineering contractor is looking to bring in a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major infrastructure project in Kent.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced SQS who wants to work on a large-scale, technically challenging project with a strong pipeline of work behind it.
The Role
You'll take responsibility for the commercial management of your package, working closely with the project and commercial teams to ensure costs, risks and opportunities are effectively managed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the commercial performance of allocated packages
- Cost reporting, forecasting and CVRs
- Subcontract procurement and management
- Applications, valuations and payment processes
- Managing variations, compensation events and change
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
- Supporting the preparation of final accounts
- Working closely with project teams to ensure commercial and operational objectives are aligned
- Mentoring and supporting junior commercial staff where required
About You
We're looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in civil engineering or major infrastructure.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Strong NEC experience
- Experience working on major infrastructure projects
- A solid understanding of subcontract management and commercial reporting
- Strong change/variations experience
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- The ability to work independently while operating as part of a wider project team
