Project Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor

South West England | Site-Based | 18-Month Contract

Berkshire Talent Partnership is recruiting a Project Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a client delivering a major £100m renewable energy infrastructure project in the South West.

This is a significant heavy infrastructure scheme and presents an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile project at a critical stage of construction. The successful candidate will become a key member of the site delivery team, taking ownership of commercial and contractual activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Candidates with strong experience administering NEC4 contracts within major infrastructure, energy, utilities, civil engineering or EPC environments are particularly encouraged to apply.

The Role

Reporting into the Commercial Lead, you will be responsible for managing the commercial performance of the project, ensuring contractual obligations are met, risks are effectively managed, and project objectives are delivered in line with budget and programme.

This is a predominantly site-based position and will suit an individual who enjoys working closely with construction and project delivery teams in a live project environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administration and management of NEC4 contracts.
  • Management of compensation events, early warnings and change control processes.
  • Preparation and evaluation of applications for payment.
  • Cost management, forecasting and budget control.
  • Preparation of monthly commercial reports and project dashboards.
  • Assessment and agreement of subcontract accounts.
  • Management of variations, claims and contractual notices.
  • Identification and mitigation of commercial and contractual risks.
  • Support procurement and subcontractor management activities.
  • Working closely with project and construction teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Preparation and negotiation of final accounts.
  • Maintaining robust project records to support contractual entitlement and project governance requirements.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor on major infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of NEC4 contracts.
  • Experience managing subcontract packages, change management and commercial reporting.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and contractual understanding.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across project stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and capable of operating effectively within a fast-paced site environment.
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline is desirable.
  • Professional membership (RICS, ICES, CIOB or equivalent) would be advantageous.
