I’m working with an established London contractor who are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor as the commercial lead on a major hotel development in Greenwich.
The £40m project will transform a former magistrates’ court into a 250-bedroom boutique hotel. This is an opportunity to operate as the number-one surveyor, taking full commercial ownership while also supporting elements of project management and delivery.
The contractor benefits from a strong relationship with an established London hotel group, providing a consistent pipeline of directly awarded hospitality projects.
The Role
- Number-one Quantity Surveyor on a £40m hotel development
- Full commercial responsibility from procurement through to final account
- Procurement and management of subcontract packages
- CVRs, valuations, cashflow forecasting and commercial reporting
- Managing variations, change control and subcontractor accounts
- Identifying and managing contractual and commercial risk
- Working closely with the operational team and supporting selected project-management duties
- Predominantly site-based in Greenwich

What they’re looking for
- Senior or Project Quantity Surveyor capable of operating as the commercial lead
- Ideally eight to ten years’ main-contractor experience
- Strong end-to-end commercial management experience
- Hotel, hospitality, refurbishment or complex conversion experience advantageous
- Confident managing procurement, CVRs, variations and final accounts
- Commercially astute, hands-on and comfortable taking ownership
- Willing to support the wider operational team with elements of project management
- More senior candidates will also be considered

Package
- £70,000–£80,000, depending on experience
- Permanent and freelance options available
- Limited-company contractors considered
