An established and respected construction consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing Glasgow team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who wants to work across a varied portfolio of projects while continuing to develop their career within a supportive consultancy environment.

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will work closely with clients, consultants and contractors, providing high-quality cost management services from feasibility through to project completion. Their Glasgow team works across a range of sectors, offering the Senior Quantity Surveyor exposure to both public and private sector projects.

The Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing projects and providing commercial advice throughout the full project lifecycle. Duties will include:

  • Preparing cost plans, estimates and tender documentation
  • Procurement and tender analysis
  • Contract administration and commercial management
  • Preparing valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Providing accurate cost reporting and advice to clients
  • Managing projects from early design stages through to completion
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the quantity surveying team

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will have the opportunity to take ownership of their own projects while working alongside experienced professionals on larger and more complex commissions.

Experience Required

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor should have:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
  • Chartered status with the RICS (MRICS), or be working towards chartership
  • Strong consultancy / PQS experience
  • Experience delivering projects through the full construction lifecycle
  • Good knowledge of construction contracts and procurement routes
  • Strong commercial, communication and client-facing skills
  • The ability to manage projects independently
